The Wedding Rehearsal Dinner of our Dreams
We were looking for a way to make our rehearsal dinner a special one. My husband and I decided that we didn't want the traditional dinner in a restaurant. A warm summer evening on the California coast is something to be taken advantage of! We had rented four charming cottages for our families to stay at for the wedding weekend. The cottages, inspired by the Robin Hood fairy tale, were all linked together with grassy yards and one of the most spectacular gardens I have ever seen. The long stemmed roses, lavender and daisy bushels left the entire area imbued with perfumes. Once we saw the idyllic English flower gardens we knew that an open air dinner in the gardens would make for the perfect rehearsal dinner venue.
I called Brad with A Top Shelf Catering and started planning the menu for a dinner that would appease everyone. Not only did he respect my budget, but he came up with original ideas of how to make everyone happy. My family is from San Francisco, but my husband's family came over from Italy so I wanted to make sure there was no pasta or Italian sausage on the menu for them to compare to their home cooking! Brad was extremely willing to help me find a solution that would make the Americans and the Italians happy- not an easy task! We ended up setting up high tables and grills all over the lawns and barbecuing top quality meats and vegetables. There were two buffet tables with the meats, cheeses, salads, vegetables, wines and beers. Everything was fresh and the fact that Brad decorated everything with white table cloths and white candles made for an elegant, romantic and unforgettable evening! Everyone stayed as late as they wanted and cuddled around the fireplaces with their drinks as the cool ocean air sealed the night and as the bride and groom tucked into their seperate cottages to prepare for the following day!

We had a private tasting with Brad Pierce this afternoon for our wedding next May. The set-up was fantastic and more than we would have expected. He brought out 3 types of salad: lettuce wedge, caesar, and mixed green with mandarin oranges. All of were fabulous! The ingredients were fresh and all dressings were made from scratch. We also received samplings of various bruschetta, mini tostadas, and tortilla soup. We then had tri tip, bbq chicken, ribs, salmon and twice baked potatoes. To add, we had a wonderful glass of chardonnay. Everything was beautifully plated and presented. Everything was fresh and delicious. Superb! Above all, Brad was very passionate about their food and service. We spend a good 2 hours with them and we didn't feel rushed!
